My name is Vicky Arnold, otherwise known as Mrs A and I am the Deputy Principal here at Somerset. I have been part of the Somerset whanau for 6 years now and I love it.
I am lucky enough to work with all of the tamariki at school and I am looking forward to getting to know all of our new students and their families.
I have an 8 year old boy Troy who is very energetic and keeps me on my toes. My husband is a carpenter and we have a shaggy dog called Zac who is just like me and loves to eat! I have been lucky enough to travel and love trying new and exciting foods. I love reading and baking and I enjoy playing on the PS4 with Troy!
Hi, I’m Jane Egan and I am the SENCO and ORS teacher at Somerset Crescent School. I have been here for almost 7 years and before that relieved in Wellington schools and then taught full time in behaviour and residential schools in Palmerston North and Auckland. Before moving to New Zealand I was a classroom teacher in the UK. I love working with the Somerset Tamariki and enjoy seeing them achieve and succeed in many ways and in many directions.
I live on a farm. I have 3 amazing children, 1 horse, a few sheep, 1 dog, 3 cats and about 20 chickens. I love music and art. I love to play my guitar, ukulele or the piano and sing with my friends in various groups and bands.
Kia Ora my name is Lyn Loveridge, known as Whaea Lyn, and I am in Ruma tahi. I have been teaching for 4 years, three in New Entrants and am now with year one and two. I love seeing the children grow in confidence and always welcome the whaanau to be part of what we are doing in room one. I feel privileged to work with the children and families of Somerset Crescent School.
My husband, Peter, and I have four children. Two boys and two girls who range from 19 to 28. Last year I gained a beautiful grandson and daughter in law. Out of school time is spent with family and friends, biking, cooking, walking and escaping on adventures out of Palmerston North.
Hi, I’m Melissa Day and I teach Years 1 and 2’s in Room 2.
I have been teaching at Somerset Crescent School for 3 years and before that relieved at Somerset while completing my Master's Degree in Education. I enjoy teaching Maths and Literacy and I am currently the lead teacher in I.C.T and Inquiry. Room 2 and I enjoy working collaboratively with Room 3. The children love having two teachers around to help them and it means learning can be more individualised.
In my spare time I coach and play netball. I also like running, swimming and boxing and I am currently training for my 2nd half marathon. I love spending time with my family especially my 2 dogs and my cat.

This is my first year at Somerset Crescent School and I am looking forward to getting to know the students, friends and families of the school. I am teaching year one and two students in Room 3 this year and will be working alongside Melissa Day.
I have taught all year levels in the past and I enjoy coaching and playing netball, spending time with family and friends and travelling.

2017 will be my third year at Somerset Crescent School. I love anything arty and have an enormous passion for literacy and learning through play. I adore teaching 5 year olds although I have taught at all levels and overseas.
In my spare time I like scrapbooking, movies, geocaching, reading and exploring Aotearoa with my whanau. We live on a farm with a lazy greyhound, 2 cats, 2 naughty goats and some chickens.

I am Mrs Kean (pronounced Kane. Weird I know but it is from Irish descent!). This year I am alongside the students in Rima Rawe and feel very privileged to be a part of their learning journey.
I have taught all year levels at Somerset, all of which come with challenges and triumphs. Over half of my teaching career has been here. I was a part of the name change era from Highbury to Somerset (Gosh I’m getting old when I think of that!). I ventured away for a short time to teach at Feilding High and complete our family.
I am blessed to have a very supportive and very patient Husband, two very precious daughters, a fluffy bum cat, and a flemish giant rabbit! I love sharing yummy platters and having a primo cup of coffee with my family and friends at my favourite local cafes. I enjoy going to the Movies and I really like mowing lawns!
Kia Ora my name is Lisa Kimura (Whaea Lisa).
You will find me in Ruma Whitu, and I am of both Maori and European descent. I have been at Somerset for 10 years and have taught from Year 3 up to Year 6. This year I will be teaching Year 5/6. I take Jump Jam as a performance group and love teaching Maths and Art.
I also lead the PE & Sport within the school, which is right up my alley as I love playing and watching sport. I am currently still playing both touch and netball for Linton Army.
I have three children (2 girls and a boy), they range from 24 to 28. I have 3 lovely grandchildren, the eldest just having left our school and Le’Shaye whom is now a year 4 here at Somerset. The baby is 2.

Somerset Crescent School has the most amazing kids! I love teaching here and have taught across the school. I have enjoyed my time at each year level however, the Senior Team is where my heart lies. This year I am back ‘home’ with the Senior Team, in Room 8, and am Kahikatea Team Leader. I most enjoy teaching Reading, Art & Math. Teaching and learning alongside Pasifika Pride, is my passion!
I have three truly amazing sons; Caleb, Harley & Elijah. I am blessed to have my 4 siblings and most of our children, live in Palmerston North and spend a fair amount of my free time chillin’ and hangin’ with friends and/ or family. My aiga (family) are everything!

Kia ora and hello, my name is Darnielle Wright.
I am the bubbly teacher in Room 10 also known as Ruma Tumeke Tekau. I have been working at Somerset Crescent for 5 years. A total of 11 years of education experience. I am also the Te Ao Māori unit leader and I teach Kapa Haka with a passion. I enjoy teaching all areas of the curriculum however, reading is one of my many strengths.
I am open minded and I live to inspire and be inspired.
I have two boys that keep me strong. We enjoy bike riding, swimming and singing.
